When should I expect to see a difference & what else should i be doing?

admin January 28th, 2012

This is what I’ve been doing at the gym 6 days a week->
30 mins on treadmill (walk 5 mins at 4mph, jog 20 mins at 5.9mph, walk 5 mins at 4mph)
Then I do some weight training working on upper body
After I do 15 mins on the elliptical or the crossover machine.

I’ve limited my calories to 1500 a day and I drink 4 green teas a day (I heard that’s supposed to increase you metabolism) and I’m also taking 32mg of ephedrine.
I would like to lose 10lbs and get noticable abs. I’m 17 years old 5′6 and currently weigh 123lbs.

Thanks, have a great day!

every week when you go to the gym you should increse your workout more and more. This will help speed up you metabolism as well as getting your body toned each time

Sounds like a great routine. I would say 3-4 weeks people will probably see the difference. Make sure those 1500 calories come from good carbs, lots of fiber, and lean protein! Good luck.

This is a good routine but i would make some changes. Your cardio is not to bad and i am glad to see that you do cardio alot of people dont and they expect to see fat dropped of just by working out. but anyways i would change your cardio to HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training. This is where you begin at a low intesity jog or fast paced walk and then turn up the heat to a high intensity sprint. You do this in timed intervals for lets say 1 min low intensity walk then 1 min of high intensity sprint and switch it back and forth. You can do this for 30 secs or 1 min intervals for about 20-30 mins. this has been proven to burn more calories and burn more fat than the regular steady state jog it also has been shown to dramitcally boost your metabolism. The HIIT can also be done on the elliptical, crossover, treadmill, stairclimber, jumprope, jumping jacks, or a bike. Another thing i would do is throw in a leg day, because your legs a bigger and stronger muscle they will burn more calories than lets say your biceps. One more thing try out a supplement called CLA it helps to burn fat and store less of it. It takes longer to notice the effects but you wiil see some if you continue to take it. Hope this helps.
