Can a 16 year old drink Red Bull or Monster Energy Drink at this age?

admin August 27th, 2010

I just want to drink it for one day on the day of my SAT to pump me up. What are the health concerns for drinking it one day?

On your SAT’s i dont think that you should drink red bull, its for high energy sports and activity. If you want your mind to stay sharp then get lots of sleep and revise your subjects. I know i sound like your mum but sleep really matters when it comes to exams. I dont think that drinking it will hurt you but dont drink to much or you will have a rush then a comedown.

you’ll be hyper all day, and then after the effects wear off, you’ll feel real tired after using up so much energy that you normally wouldn’t use when you didn’t drink the red bull or Monster drink.

    on that note though, Cheers!!!!

Yes, I bought some at that age. But I wouldn’t recommend you drink it. It could cause cardiovascular risk, impaired judgment, shortness of breath, dizziness, disorientation and rapid heart beat. I didn’t get all of those but I felt dizzy 10 minutes after drinking it.

Of course…its jsut caffiene & sugar. But, beware there is a "crash" after a few hours, you will get more tired.
Try 5 Hour Energy Shots…available at drugstores!

you can drink it and die.

scoring high in the SAT is a function of what you know and not how awake you think you are.

Yes you can, but I don’t know if you want to. I drink energy drinks all the time except I usually pass out a while after because it will make your blood sugar rise way to high, then drop at an incredible rate to a very low point.

i see no reason why not?
there are no laws preventing from usage at 16.
