Is it okay to drink a Monster Energy Drink 5 times a week if I'm 13?

People tell me I’m going to end up having a heartattack or something from drinking them pretty much everyday. I drink one after school and 2 each day of the weekend. Is that bad?

    It completely depends on the person. If you haven’t had any issues with it yet, I think it would be okay AS LONG AS you eat something with it. This is a really funny, but sorta scary story that my friend told me. He said when he was in middle school, a kid drank three red bulls without eating anything and had to be taken to the hospital because his heart rate was something like three-four times as fast as it should have been XD Caffeine has been shown to stunt your growth, but if you’re already tall, go for it :) You sound like a girl who’s actually conscious about her health, which is a plus! Just take care of yourself, hon :) I think you’ll be okay with the energy drinks, just don’t drink them any often than you do now. I know people from gymnastics who drink them just as often as you do and my Pysch teacher has to have about 8 cups of coffee in the morning to function lol. I think you’re okay :)

    5 a week is fine but if it was 5 a day then i would be worried lol

    I wouldn’t advise it. If you have an underlying heart condition it can be dangerous to your health. In general it isn’t healthy to drink that many even due to the level of sugar present in each drink. They are basically empty calories, and you would benefit moreso from drinking a glass of milk instead.

    Its not horrible but it is not good for you. You do know thought, that it has a ton of calories so it may make you gain a ton of weight.

    well..it depends really. However, some people DO end up with heart attacks..
    but that’s not the point. Drinking it 5 times a week can lead to addiction, and
    those energy drinks contain so much things in them that they can harm you..
    badly. it could lead to deseases and more..
    this doesnt mean you shouldnt drink an energy drink :) Just not 5 times a week..
    lower it down to 2 at least, and you’ll be fine!

    due to have been addicted to them i would say go down to about 2 or 3 but if every want to do any sport later on dont drink them at all it is bad on you im 15 i know due to past experiences also you can get really bad acne from drinking 5 a week

    It’s not good for you. It may hurt you in the long run, so I would definitely slow down a little.

    5 a week is a lot of sugar. If you want to drink that many I would suggest the low carb ones. They have less sugar and less calories. The caffeine and other herbal ingredients should give you enough of a boost without so much sugar. There’s less of a selection when it comes to the low carb ones but even if you switch out just a couple times a week it’d be better.

    At 13 you shouldn’t be dieting but cutting back on some bad habits now can prevent weight gain as you get older.
