Definitely not, a protein shake is just food, a good source or low carb low fat protein, nothing more.

Pointless, it’s possible to have too much protein and diet pills do not work.

Protein shakes are perfectly fine to drink. If your are looking to lose weight, you want to make sure your body especially gets the amino acid called leucine. It helps your body maintain its lean muscle mass.

Normally, when people take a diet pill or try a weight loss plan, they end up losing weight in the form of muscle. This is due to the fact that fat is a better store of energy than muscles are, so your body wants to hold onto its reserves as long as possible. This also leads to the yo-yo effect where people gain the weight back, because the body doesn’t have the muscle to burn the calories that are being taken in.

When choosing a protein shake, make sure it has all nine essential amino acids and can help your body to produce the other twelve.
